Established website and graphic designer Nadja Eberhardt recognised the need for bespoke wedding websites as a direct result of her own wedding and went on to launch a competitively priced site Celebration Websites to help fill this gap in the wedding market.
Nadja explains, “Organising a wedding requires a lot of planning and a customised wedding website is a great solution. It is the perfect way to interact with guests before and after the big day, saving time and preventing stress, especially during the immediate period leading up to the wedding. It is also a beautiful memento to keep and share with guests and those unable to attend”.
Why do brides-to-be need a wedding website?
Nowadays, friends and family are spread far afield and many brides live a long way from their wedding venue. Sharing the all-important pieces of information and co-ordinating guests is time consuming and key details may not always reach the right people in time.
But a custom made wedding website is more than just a vehicle for practical information. Precious photos can be included; and the colour/design of the wedding theme can be featured conveying the excitement in the build up to the special day. Each wedding site is custom made and not based on existing templates – which means it can look exactly the way it’s wanted.
A customised site can include the following:
- Details of the wedding day – Contact details of key people, locations, the timing of the day, dress codes, menus, arrangements for children etc.
- Information that can help guests get organised well in advance (and save money with early bookings) including transport connections, accommodation options and gift list details. For example, links on the site take the guest to a British Rail timetable for specific destinations; hotel chains and local tourist boards in wedding location; online gift lists; and, photos of church and/or wedding reception venue with maps.
- Photographs of the wedding – Celebration Websites liases with the official photographer to get the images live on the site as soon as possible after the big day. Guests are also given the option of adding their personal pictures of the day to share with everyone. A slide show of the wedding day can be created in the package.
- Co-ordination of guest list and dietary requirements – A fully customisable RSVP means that guests can RSVP via the website and, for example, chose their menus. The wedding couple and whoever maybe helping them will be able to see in an instant how things are progressing and advise suppliers accordingly.
- Photographs and information of the hen and stag event, the honeymoon and/or tell the story of how the couple met. Additional features can include a blog site or online wedding video.
- Website detail cards – Save time by NOT stapling sheets of paper with directions and information to beautiful invitations. Celebration Websites can design and print small cards with website details to send to guests using the same theme as wedding invitations/website design.
